There is no reason to put off dental care because of fear.
Dr. Lawson has completed extensive training in Sedation Dentistry, and has helped improve the experience of hundreds ofpatients through oral and IV sedation. With the proper sedation — based on your level of anxiety — you will feel relaxed and drowsy, or you may even fall into “twilight sleep,” remembering little about the appointment afterwards.
And sedation dentistry is not just for those with severe anxiety and fear. It is also appropriate for patients who:
• have a sensitive gag reflex
• have trouble feeling numb after receiving local anesthetic
• cannot rest comfortably in the exam chair due to neck or back problems
While you are under sedation, we closely monitor blood pressure, breathing and heart rate. Once treatment is complete, we stop the IV and let you rest comfortably for 15 to 20 minutes before you leave our office to be driven by a friend.
